Meetings take place on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the
Multi-Purpose Educational Bldg. of the Community College

January 9th, 2008

Our next meeting and the first meeting of the New Year.

Winter/Spring 2008
As Members-at-Large of the BSF we will once again be participating in the Visiting Masters Tours.  The Masters on this years tours are Ben Oki of California, Ted Matson also of California and Michael Hagedorn of Oregon.  Since in previous years we have hosted both Ben Oki and Ted Matson we have voted on Michael Hagedorn for this year.  Michael Hagedorn's schedule has not been solidified yet, but, as soon as we have a definite date for his appearance at our meeting, we will make it known.
Ben Oki will be in Mobile on Saturday, Jan. 19th as guest of the Azalea City Bonsai Society and we (MSGCBS Members) are usually invited to participate and bring a tree (if they have an opening) or just to observe (fee depending on which you choose).  So it is possible to reap the benefits of observing two Masters at work or having two trees worked on, each by a different master.
We (MSGCBS) also reciprocate and invite ACBS to participate in our Master's workshop.  This gives both clubs the opportunity to see two Masters at work, benefit from their work on the clubs members trees and not have the burden of having the fee of two masters.  It's a win, win situation.  So, with that in mind, give your trees the once-over and decide which one would best benefit from the Master's touch
